Invite teammates to your organization and give each person the right level of access, right from where you need them.

## Overview
- Invite people by email and assign a role, either from the Members page or from several other places in the app.
- Invitations are only valid for the email address they were sent to, and expire after seven days.
- You can manage roles and remove members at any time from the Members page.

## Invite a member
1. Go to **Team**.
2. Choose **Invite member**, enter the teammate's email, and pick the **role** they'll have.

3. They'll get an invitation email. The link opens a page showing which organization invited them and with which role. From there, they can:
   - choose **Accept invitation** if they're already signed in;
   - choose **Sign in to accept**, or **Create an account**, then return to the invitation afterward;
   - or choose **Continue with …** your identity provider, if your organization uses single sign-on.

An invitation can only be accepted by the address it was sent to. If someone is signed in with a different account, they're offered **Use a different account**.

You can send a new invitation at any time, including to someone who was a member before. If an earlier invitation expired, the new one simply replaces it. You can't invite someone who's already a member, and if an invitation to that address is still waiting, cancel it first so you can send a new one.

> [!NOTE]
> An invitation stays valid for seven days. If your organization has no free seat when someone accepts, they're told so, and the invitation stays open so they can accept once a seat frees up.

## Invite someone where you need them
You don't have to go to **Team** first. Wherever you choose who should hear about something, you can invite a teammate right there using just their email address:

- **Alerts → Destinations**, under the section for who else should be woken up. The person is invited as a member, and their address is added as an email destination right away. Inviting someone doesn't send them alerts on its own — but they're covered starting with the next alert.
- On a monitor or server page, the section for who hears about it works the same way: choose **Invite a teammate**, and they're invited and added as an email destination.
- On **Home**, when handing off a problem to someone: open the arrow next to the assignment option, and if the person isn't listed yet, choose the invite option at the bottom. If you're the only person in the workspace, you'll see an invite prompt instead. Once they accept, you can assign the problem to them.
- When sharing a dashboard and there's nobody else to share it with yet, invite them from there; once they accept, you can share the dashboard with them.
- For an integration that needs someone else's access, once the connection is made, you can also invite that person to the team as an admin, so next time they can connect it themselves.

> [!TIP]
> You need permission to manage members to see these invite options. Every invitation shows up under **Pending** on the Team page, along with where it was sent from.

## Manage members
1. Go to **Team**.
2. Find the member you want to update.
3. Choose **Change role** to update their **Access level**, or choose **Remove member** to take away their access.

Roles decide what each person can see and do in your organization.
