The problem
A Tuesday as a one-person web studio
You are halfway through a client project when the phone rings. It is another client, the one whose site you built last year, and their site is showing a security warning. The certificate expired overnight. Auto-renewal stopped working weeks ago when the host changed something, and nothing told you.
Fixing it takes twenty minutes. Finding out about it took a phone call from an annoyed client. And while you are logged in, you notice that one of their domains expires in three weeks, at a registrar you only use for that one client.
You built fifteen sites across four hosts and two registrars, and you are the only one keeping them alive. InfraNest connects to all of those accounts and watches every site, certificate and domain for you. When something needs you, you hear about it first, with enough time to fix it before anyone notices.
The old way
- A spreadsheet of which client is hosted where
- Certificates you renew when something breaks
- Uptime you only hear about from the client
- Domain renewals in four different inboxes
With InfraNest
- One inventory across every host and registrar
- Every certificate found, and a warning only when a renewal fails
- Alerts to your phone before anyone notices
- Every expiry date on one timeline
How it works
How a freelancer runs on InfraNest
Every client site in one list, whoever hosts it
Connect each registrar, DNS provider and host you use, once, with an API token. Every domain, zone and server appears in one inventory with its renewal date, its provider and anything that needs attention. The spreadsheet of which client lives where is no longer needed, because the list already knows. Nothing is moved: sites stay on their hosts and domains stay at their registrars.
- Domains, DNS zones and servers from every provider in one list
- Renewal dates, auto-renew and transfer lock as sortable columns
- Tags and custom fields on every object, so one client’s setup is one filter away
- CSV export on every plan, including free
Know a site is down before the client calls
Add the sites that matter and InfraNest checks them every minute on Pro. When a check fails, the alert goes where you will actually see it: email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram or Discord. A service that keeps bouncing up and down does not page you every time, and you get a recovery notice when it is back. Heartbeat monitors catch the quieter failures too, like a backup job that silently stopped running.
- Checks every minute on Pro, every five minutes on Free
- Website, API, keyword, port, DNS and SSL checks
- Heartbeat monitors for cron jobs and backups
- Alerts by email, Slack, Telegram or Discord
Certificates found and watched, without a spreadsheet
InfraNest finds the certificates you serve from your monitors, from a scan of any hostname, from public certificate logs and from your providers, and keeps one row per certificate. A certificate that renews itself stays quiet until a renewal actually fails, so the warnings you get are worth reading. Certificates someone has to renew by hand get warnings at 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 days.
- Found from monitors, scans, public logs and provider APIs
- Quiet while auto-renewal works, a warning when it fails
- Missing intermediate certificates spotted, the kind that only break on phones
- Your private keys are never stored
A status page to send instead of an email
When a client asks whether their site is down, send them a link. A status page is built from the checks you already run, so it updates itself when something fails and when it recovers. On Pro it carries your branding and can sit on the client’s own domain, with HTTPS set up for you. Clients can subscribe to email updates, and every incident keeps a permanent link you can paste into a reply.
- Built from your monitors, with nothing to update by hand
- Your branding and a custom domain on Pro
- Three status pages on Pro, unlimited on Business
- Email subscribers with double opt-in

Questions
Questions freelancers ask
I host clients in different places. Does that matter?
That is the point. Connect each provider once and everything merges into a single inventory — you never think about who hosts what again.
Do I need to move anything?
No. Domains stay at your registrar and sites stay on their host. InfraNest reads over the provider APIs and changes nothing until you allow it.
Can I put clients on their own status page?
Yes, on any plan. Point a monitor at a status page and give the client the link instead of answering ‘is it down?’ by email.
What if I only have three sites?
Use the free plan. Ten domains, twenty monitors and a status page, with no card and no expiry.
Will connecting InfraNest change anything on my clients’ sites?
No. Connecting a provider only reads what is there. Nothing changes at a registrar, DNS provider or host until you edit something yourself, and a monitor only sends the kind of request a visitor would.
Do I need to install anything on my servers?
No. Connect a provider and you get the server list and its metrics with nothing installed. The optional agent is one command and adds memory, disk space and load average, which no cloud API can report.
Which plan does a freelancer need?
Most start on Free: ten domains, twenty monitors and a status page. Pro covers 100 domains, 50 monitors at one-minute checks, three branded status pages and 25 automations, which fits a full client roster.
What happens if I stop using InfraNest?
Nothing goes offline. Your domains, zones and sites never moved, so they are exactly where they were. Export your inventory as CSV first if you want to keep it.
Not quite you?
Run your whole stack without the ops overhead.
You wear every hat. InfraNest gives you one place for domains, DNS, servers and uptime — so nothing lapses, nothing surprises you, and you spend time building instead of chasing dashboards.
