Is a catch ever guaranteed?
No, and we won’t pretend it is. For uncontested names, auto-registering with your own registrar almost always wins; for a hotly-contested one a Dynadot backorder is the only reliable way to out-race the professional catch networks — and you only pay if it wins.
What do the two scores mean?
Every watch gets a domain-quality score (how desirable the name is) and a separate catchability score (how likely it is to actually be released). Both are explainable, so you can see exactly which signals count for and against.
What’s the difference between auto-register and a backorder?
Auto-register uses your own connected registrars to grab a name the instant it drops — perfect for uncontested names. A backorder uses a specialist service (Dynadot) that races the drop ahead of everyone else to win a contested name, and only charges you if it succeeds.
What happens if a name goes to auction?
Some expiring names are sent to a registrar auction and never drop to be re-registered. InfraNest detects this, flags the watch as “in auction”, and gives you a bid-here link with the current price and end time where available — so you can go bid instead of waiting for nothing.
