Whether you're backing up your records or moving contacts and certificates into InfraNest, this article walks you through exporting and importing your data. It's for any user who wants a copy of their InfraNest data or needs to bring in existing contacts and certificates.
Overview
- Export almost any resource — domains, contacts, DNS zones and records, servers, firewalls, monitors, incidents, status pages and more.
- Download everything at once as a single bundle, or export one resource at a time.
- Import contacts and SSL certificates from a spreadsheet file.
- Domains and servers can't be imported this way — they connect through a linked provider instead.
Export your data
- Go to Settings, then open the data section.
- Find the resource you want to export (domains, contacts, DNS zones and records, servers, firewalls, monitors, incidents, status pages, and more).
- For each one, choose your preferred format — CSV works everywhere, while JSON gives you more detail.
- To get everything in one go instead, select Export all my data to download a single ZIP file with all your data.
Import contacts or certificates
- Go to Settings, then open the data section.
- Select Import CSV.
- Upload your CSV file.
- InfraNest checks your file and shows a validated preview with a status for each row.
- Review the preview, then select Import {n} rows to confirm.
NoteOnly contacts and certificates can be imported this way. Domains and servers always come in through a connected provider instead. Importing never erases columns you didn't include in your file.
TipNot sure how to format your file? Use Download template to get a ready-made CSV with the expected columns already set up.
