Create a GoDaddy access token

Connecting GoDaddy to InfraNest requires a personal access token from the GoDaddy Developer portal, and this guide walks you through creating one. It's for anyone setting up or updating a GoDaddy connection in InfraNest.

Overview

• GoDaddy uses a personal access token to let InfraNest manage your domains and DNS on your behalf.
• You create the token on GoDaddy's own developer site, then paste it into InfraNest.
• Older connections may still use a key-and-secret pair, but GoDaddy is phasing those out by the end of 2026.

Create the token

1. Sign in at developer.godaddy.com/personal-access-token.

2. Select + Generate Token.

3. Give it a name you'll recognise later, such as "InfraNest".

4. Choose an expiration. Pick the longest period you're comfortable with: when the token expires, InfraNest can no longer reach GoDaddy until you paste in a new one.

5. Under scopes, tick the Domains & DNS bundle. That grants everything InfraNest needs in one go. If you'd rather grant less, expand the bundle and tick these instead: read domains, register domains, modify domain settings, update DNS records, replace nameservers, update contacts, and start transfers.

6. Select Generate Token and copy it straight away — the token is shown only once.

WarningIf you lose the token, you can't look it up again — delete it in the portal and generate a new one.

Already using an API key and secret?

Connections made before GoDaddy introduced tokens use a key and secret pair instead. Those keep working for now, but GoDaddy stops accepting them at the end of 2026, and the connection shows a reminder until you switch:

1. Create a token with the steps above.
2. In InfraNest, open Integrations → GoDaddy, select your account, and paste the token into the Personal Access Token field.
3. Select Save. InfraNest uses the token from that moment on, and the reminder disappears.

Known GoDaddy limitations

GoDaddy restricts some API features depending on your account (for example how many domains you hold). When GoDaddy blocks a feature, InfraNest marks it as temporarily unavailable instead of failing — you'll see it on the GoDaddy integration page with an automatic retry time. Things you might see paused:

• Domain pricing / availability — an "access denied" response on price and availability lookups.
• Domain actions — an "access denied" response on certain domain-management actions.

InfraNest retries on its own and re-enables the feature once GoDaddy allows it again. You can also select Re-enable to try sooner. If a feature stays blocked, check that your GoDaddy account meets their API requirements.

NoteThis is a GoDaddy account restriction, not a problem with your key — the rest of the integration keeps working while a feature is paused.
